Review of DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod

The number of vape device manufacturers is constantly growing in spite of those who say that vaping is not as interesting as it was a couple of years ago. In fact, the number of vapers is increasing, accordingly, they need more interesting devices. In this segment of the market, there are both well-known companies and newcomers, releasing interesting devices. One of the newcomer companies can be considered DEJAVU, which was created by the famous reviewer Adrian Lo Dejavu (by the way, an interesting trend people who constantly make reviews on other people’s devices, very often become developers of their own). Initially, this company released a couple of drippers, then a mechmod, but it was not enough and the first box mod – DEJAVU DJV D7 – saw the light of day. The box mod turned out to be quite interesting, as it uses a board from asMODus, touch screen display and quite original design. It’s still hard to say whether it will become a super sales hit or not, but it is definitely worthy of the attention of the vaper community.

General Info

DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod is a box mod of not the most compact size, powered by two batteries, equipped with asMODus’ proprietary GX180 UTC chipset and touchscreen display. Despite not the smallest overall dimensions, the device has good ergonomics and is easy to use. canadian vape The use of asMODus board is not accidental, as Adrian Lo Dejavu constantly cooperates with this American company, but the user of the box mod will be satisfied, as the chipset is already tested and there are no complaints about its work. A nice addition is a small color display with touch control, with which you can easily set the optimal mode of operation. Box mod is available in three colors – army green, yellow sandy and black.

Equipment

Naturally, you shouldn’t expect something unconventional or unusual from an ordinary box mod, but Dejavu company tried to stand out somehow, and it succeeded. That’s why in a simple at first glance cardboard box you can find:

DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod;

DEJAVU branded keychain;

USB cable for charging and flashing the device;

Sticker;

Case for box mod, atomizers and consumables;

Warranty card;

User’s Manual.

Appearance and design

At once we should pay tribute to Adrian Lo Dejavu, who either by himself or with the help of third-party specialists, developed the design of the box mod. The design turned out to be a bit ryx-like, exactly similar, not copying the characteristic features of RX, as DJV D7 Box Mod is a bit flattened, not triangular. We can confidently say that visually the mod looks big and bulky, but its ergonomics is at the right level and it is comfortable to take it with both right and left hands, and to press the fire button with the thumb or index finger.

Taking into account the fact that DJV D7 has a rather original form factor, the seating area on it is large, allowing you to use atomizers up to 26 mm in diameter without any problems. The body is made of zinc alloy and plastic, so it is not as light as many vapers would like, but its weight inspires confidence. An important feature of the case is a special wide lug. It is not quite clear how to use it, as it is not quite convenient to wear such a box mod around the neck because of its size and weight, but perhaps a small lanyard on the hand for fans of an active lifestyle can be hooked so that the mod does not fall down while walking or cycling.

The maximum power provided by DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod is 180 watts and it is provided by two 18650 batteries, which are installed in the hinged cover on the bottom of the device. If necessary, the batteries can be charged using the micro-USB connector with a current of 2A, located under the display.

Board, functionality and features of operation

The fact that Adrian Lo Dejavu and his team decided to use the GX180 UTC chipset from asMODus in DJV D7 is not surprising, as this reviewer has been cooperating with this famous manufacturer for many years (just go to his YouTube channel and look at asMODus and Ultroner reviews, and it will become clear that he likes these manufacturers very much). But we can’t say that the use of this chip had a bad effect on the technical characteristics of the mod, the chipset is already time-tested and there are no complaints from vapers.

If we talk about functionality, the vaper can use several standard modes – Power, Temp, Curve, TCR, TFR, among which everyone can find the optimal one for himself. A small remark to the board can be made about the minimum resistance, which raises the chipset 0.1 Ohm, but for most vapers it will not be critical. The firmware of the board can be updated, asMODus provides such an opportunity.

DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod is equipped with a small color display with touch screen control, which is very convenient and modern. On the display you can find all the information you need for a vaper, and at the same time the control is simple and intuitive.

Conclusions and impressions

DEJAVU DJV D7 Box Mod is a box mod, which causes double feelings, because on the one hand it is something new and interesting, and on the other hand the asMODus board is just placed in a new case from a new manufacturer. But in any case the device is quite worthy productive, convenient, ergonomic and relatively inexpensive.
