Review of Vaporesso SWAG 2 MOD

This review will focus on the compact SWAG 2 mod from Vaporesso, and as a bonus you will get a subjective comparison with the first version of SWAG.

The Vaporesso SWAG II battery pack can be purchased in two different configurations – in a set with a non-removable NGR PE TANK or as a separate device. It was the second option that fell into my hands, albeit with a noticeable delay.

Vaporesso SWAG II Mod packaging

The mod is sold in a small cardboard box, the color of which will roughly correspond to the color of the device inside, and the photo of the device on the lid will be in the current color. canadian vape shop montreal The name of the mod is modestly nestled at the bottom, and in the first place is the provocative inscription POWER & STYLE, which can be translated as “POWER AND STYLE”. On the back of the box are the device specifications, delivery set, certificate icons, barcodes, a sticker with a hologram and an authenticity verification code.

The sides do not contain anything particularly interesting, which you can see for yourself by looking at the photo above.

What’s in the box

The delivery set is quite modest: the mod itself in a plastic tray, several advertising cards in a black envelope (not included in the photo), instructions for checking authenticity and a manual in several languages, including Russian, and a short and high-quality USB – microUSB cable.

Vaporesso SWAG II Mod. Design

The design of the mod is recognizable from afar, the form factor proposed by Eleaf in the legendary iStick Pico was liked by many, was repeated in the first SWAG and moved to the SWAG II almost unchanged. The controls remained in their places: the Fire button above the screen, Menu – under the screen and a double rocker “+ / -” on the side, which is not signed in any way, the charging port is on the other side of the mod. Purely externally, the battery pack attracts with a textured surface and a small anatomical depression (it will be clearly visible in further photos from above and below). The decorations include the inscription VAPORESSO SWAG II and a small logo of the manufacturer.

Upon closer acquaintance, disappointment sets in. The case is plastic and very light (even creaks when strongly squeezed). Both Pico and the first SWAG did not allow themselves this and were favorably distinguished by alloy cases. And they were more solid in weight, and they lay in the hand somehow more meaningfully. I do not exclude that the small size will be a plus for someone, but in my case it is just a “soapbox”.

The connector is located on top, the central part of which is steel, and the edging (like the entire cover) is made of zinc alloy. The positive pin is spring-loaded and made of brass and coated with titanium nitride. The landing diameter for atomizers is an impressive 25 millimeters, respectively, “thinner” atomizers with a diameter of 22 millimeters will sit with a noticeable step. I will separately note the positive point associated with the large distance from the connector to the cover, tanks with pot-bellied glass with a diameter of up to 27 millimeters will fit without unnecessary problems. The battery compartment cover is metal, the sides are ribbed, which helps to change batteries more confidently without slipping fingers during opening / closing.

On the bottom side you can see holes for ventilation and emergency gas release, a couple of screws and meaningless inscriptions and logos. But what is missing here is not even the slightest hint of legs, which over time is guaranteed to lead to scratches and loss of attractive appearance.

Vaporesso SWAG II MOD – battery compartment

Under the cover of the battery block is hidden the serial number and the “-” sign, the threads of the threaded connection themselves are relatively large, but when tightened without a battery, they have a slight play. This does not affect the performance in any way, but can cause irritation for overly careful users.

Vaporesso SWAG II MOD – contact group

The inner surface of the battery compartment is covered with plastic, and in the very depths there is a spring-loaded contact and a huge “+” mark, which helps to understand which side to install the 18650 battery correctly.

Vaporesso SWAG II MOD – screens

The mod has a monochrome screen and by modern standards is quite small, only 0.91 inches. All the displayed information is clearly visible in room lighting, but almost invisible in direct sunlight, and since there are no alternatives anyway, there is no point in arguing about this. And since the first version of SWAG got into the photo, look how the design has changed and how different the battery blocks are (almost nothing).

Vaporesso SWAG II MOD

If you do not pay attention to the material of the case – simply a magnificent mod in all respects with an equally magnificent board. There is nothing superfluous in the device, but there are absolutely all (even if rarely used) functions, and as a bonus, there is also a fairly fast charge (1.5 Amperes). If you are looking for a compact mod for MTL, SWAG II is a must have. But if you are a fan of tanks with a diameter of strictly 22 millimeters, then you will have to put up with a rather noticeable step or look for alternatives. Personally, I decided to leave the first version of SWAG and ignore this one. And I really hope to see a normal alloy case, carbon inserts and a Type-C charging port in the third revision.
